LI is committed to providing academic pathways for students, and the purpose of undergraduate certificate courses is to provide an introductory body of knowledge in the relevant discipline area. It qualifies individuals with knowledge and skills for further study, professional upskilling, employment, and participation in lifelong learning. Undergraduate Certificate qualifications have been designed to enable graduates to demonstrate the learning outcomes expressed as knowledge, skills and the application of knowledge and skills specified in the Undergraduate Certificate descriptor.
The Undergraduate Certificate in Business introduces students at a foundation level to the sources and content in the business discipline area and provides training which emphasises vocational application. This course has been designed for individuals who wish to work in a small business or other organisations. Students will be equipped with writing skills and will learn how to demonstrate an ability to apply a body of fundamental knowledge in a range of business contexts.
The course draws on LI’s established expertise in business and management. The structure of this course is based on the first semester of LI’s existing Bachelor of Accounting course, enabling students to exit due to unforeseen personal or professional reasons. Graduates of the Undergraduate Certificate in Business may find employment in a relevant occupational field, such as: business and professional organisations; entrepreneurial start-ups; and not-for-profit organisations. Additionally, graduates may choose to progress into a relevant Diploma or Bachelor course.
The course structure is based on one semester (14 weeks duration).
To qualify for award of Undergraduate Certificate in Business a candidate shall accrue an aggregate of at least 40 credit points, including satisfactory completion of the core units noted below.
Core
Professor Harvinder Singh has been an academic for nearly two decades with strong teaching and research expertise in informatics, traditional and molecular plant breeding approaches for the improvement and management of cereal crops, and medicinal plants. He has published over 50 research articles in peer reviewed journals, books and conference proceedings. He also presented his research at national and international conferences. He has successfully secured and completed many research grants. Additionally, in his current role as Program Director, he has demonstrated strong academic management and higher education compliance knowledge and capability. Prof Singh also has a strong Research and Higher Degree supervision experience.

Scholarships
To promote excellence in scholarship and learning, Leaders Institute will offer scholarships to outstanding students for both courses starting Year 2.
A combination of merit and needs based scholarships by way of fee discount of 25% is available for domestic students. To apply for this scholarship, please meet your Program Director.
Graduates of the Undergraduate Certificate in Business will:
Completion of an Australian Year 12 qualification, or overseas equivalent. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Articulation from another LI course or equivalent.
or
Completion of a Certificate IV or higher qualification awarded under the Australian Qualification Framework by an authorised institution or registered training organisation
Applicants whose entry qualifications were obtained in an institution where English is not the language of instruction normally require an International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) of 6.0, with a score of not less than 5.5 in any of the four skill areas, or equivalent.
Consideration will be given to other factors such as practical experience, community service, maturity, motivation, and the likelihood of satisfactory completion of the academic requirements of the course.
Special admission pathways are also open for educationally disadvantaged applicants and for First Nations Peoples.
Special or alternative admission applicants may be required to provide a personal statement outlining their interest, motivation, and reasons for selecting the course including details of educational and any employment background.
